Amongst the 7000m2 of serene grounds are 14 tastefully decorated self-catering apartments either studios, or one- or two bed roomed. The three studios and the five one-bedroom apartments are for a maximum of two persons, while the six two-bed roomed apartments are for a maximum of four persons. All apartments have a well-equipped kitchen with a fridge, cooker with oven, kettle, coffee machine etc. and a living room with under floor heating. Resort Complexes

Portugal has got the art of 'complex / resort' building down to a fine art these days. The ones in Luz are no exception. Blending in with the neighborhood nicely and sub divided into 'villages'. Also there are villages that are part of golf complexes with villas and apartments for rent, all perfectly located for those golfing holidays.

Luz has one huge complex which is the Ocean Club. It spreads throughout the town. It is divided up into various 'villages' which take bookings and function as individual businesses whilst sharing the facilities of all parts. This seems to work well and the layout is not as intrusive as you would think.

Hotel Tips : Don't use the Telephones in your room. They are terribly expensive. However, using the Hotel's own Fax machine is normally cheaper than the Post Office. Avoid using your mobile phone except for emergencies. Unless you are on some sort of special tariff it is still very expensive to make and receive calls.

Established in 1985, it was once the only hotel between Sagres and Lagos, definately making it the oldest hotel in Luz. Just a ten minute walk to the town centre. Inns (Estalegum), Pensions and Guest Houses (Vivenda) are quite plentiful in the Algarve but are not the easiest to locate. They are by far the cheapest form of accommodation especially for the shorter stays. Not to be confused with 'Aparthotels' which are usually a group of apartments with hotel type facilities.
